Make It Direct And Simple

There are likely an infinite number of things that we have to attend to daily.

Take a moment to assess how much of that labor actually belongs to someone else.

Labor comes in various forms.

Whose emotional baggage are you carrying?

Whose financial burden are you managing?

Whose heart belongs to someone else but takes up space in yours?

Some things may be keeping us grounded and we will never soar to higher heights until we let go of what weighs us down.

Take inventory and then give folks back their stuff!

It never belonged to you in the first place!

Our mind wandering isn't a problem per se, however, making a habit of refocusing our attention is key.

Here are some things you can do to tame your wandering mind:

Practice mindfulness exercises that include acknowledging your random thoughts by paying attention to your attention!

Then bring your mind back to something in the present moment, such as your breathing pattern or music or the task at hand.

Do your best not to judge the thoughts or where your mind wandered. Instead, let it go and focus on the present.

This takes practice and INTENTION but I believe we will be able to flex our mindfulness muscles after this becomes a part of our daily routine.

Working so hard to drown out the negative self talk.

To push myself beyond my comfort zone.

I have to trust that things will work out but more importantly I have to trust that even if they don't work out the way I imagine, I can pivot - fail forward & keep moving.

Quitting is not an option.

The finality of failure is false.

I ain't got it in me to quit

Don't worry about how others navigate life's terrain.

Focus on your own path.

Seek appropriate counsel but if you attempt to mimic the steps of others you limit your own potential.

I wrote a poem years ago about walking in your own shoes.

I can't remember all of the words, but here's the Dec 2021 version:

You couldn't walk a mile

in the pair that I wear.

These shoes been here, there and everywhere.

They've been up some hills

& then back down.

They've been way over there somewhere

But they came back around

My shoes would kill you

& yours would kill me.

If I put on your shoes,

who knows where I'd be

So put on your boots,

heels, sneakers or flats

Follow your own path,

& let that be that

Stay in your lane,

There's plenty room there

And I'll meet you at the top

The successes we'll share

FAITH lends itself to a state of well-being, expression, and acceleration of your beliefs from knowledge and understanding.

While FEAR lends itself to anxiety, suppression, and depression from worry and doubt.

Choose to be at-ease

over a state of dis-ease

based on what you choose to believe.

Let's have an honest conversation.

Imposter syndrome is real.

It's also false.

Imposter syndrome, also called perceived fraudulence, involves feelings of self-doubt and personal incompetence that persist despite your education, experience, and accomplishments.

Knock out the negative self talk!

Hang on a little longer.

There's a plot twist!

YOU WIN!

It may not seem like it now, especially when the silence seems so loud.

I remember those cold, dark, lonely moments of despair.

More like days, weeks, months & years!

And I can't tell you the exact moment when everything changed but I do remember searching for the light in the darkness.

I remember having faith that my circumstances wouldn't/COULDN'T last forever.

There HAD to be a redemption story.

I couldn't allow my beginning or middle to be my ending.

So, I say search for the light.

Don't give up the fight.

Greater is coming.

Greater is in you.

Lean not unto your own understanding.

P.U.S.H. - Pray Until Something Happens

"A wise person once said, let people do what they want to do, so you can see what they would rather do. That will answer all the questions you have"

You've cried for it.

You've prayed for it.

You fasted, meditated and manifested.

The opportunity may sound terrifying but it is probably exactly what you asked for in your heart.

Don't tell yourself why you can't do it.

Instead, ask yourself how you can make it happen.

Go for it!

It's your time to shine.

We have all probably created a "To-Do" list once or twice.

It helps us focus and set intentions for a specific period.

I love a good To-Do list!

But today I am sharing a NOT TO DO list.

These are things you should avoid.

Remember, the goal is to prioritize your peace, wellness, & self-care - especially in this season.

Take a look at this NOT to do list - for your consideration

2022 is fast approaching.

Let's leave self doubt in 2021.

Here are 8 Ways to do exactly that!

Follow the link to the American Express website.

It is a short read but it details the 8 strategies.

Let's build ourselves up - inside & out.

Be consistent.

Pursue purpose, preserve peace!
